Myriam Laberge
www.breakthroughsunlimited.com
Myriam is a senior management and organization
development consultant, a Certified Professional Facilitator,
and trainer with over 27 years of experience in the public,
private, and non-profit sectors. She has worked with all levels
of organizations and groups, and designed and facilitated
several hundred strategic, change and leadership sessions in a
variety of settings, with groups ranging in size from 5 to 300.
Myriam has an M.A. in Economics.
“I believe that magic can happen in groups, releasing
extraordinary creativity and power. Only rarely does this occur
spontaneously and effortlessly. Tapping collective intelligence
and wisdom usually requires an investment of time spent together
sharing, exploring, discovering, learning, bridging, dreaming,
and planning. A deeply compelling question must catalyze the
group’s central intention. A foundation of respect and civility
among members is paramount. Appropriate use of process and
design matters. In designing and facilitating sessions, I bring
an in-depth understanding of group dynamics, effective meeting
processes, and principle-centered methods for dialogue,
deliberation, consensus, collaboration, and decision-making to
help groups successfully achieve desired session outcomes.”

The Peer Leadership
Alliance
After some years of researching, designing, prototyping
and applying the Peer Leadership process
with teams, Conference projects and small businesses, Brenda
has recently formed a working alliance with two colleagues,
Laura Mack and Renate Geier, to offer this model more formally
into businesses and communities. They are currently in the
process of identifying clients for whom this model and these
processes would dramatically increase their effectiveness and
harmonious working relationships, and are co-creating a Handbook
estimated to be complete by fall 2007 .
Avril Orloff
Every
group facilitation can be greatly enriched with graphic
recording.
As a graphic facilitator, Avril Orloff literally 'draws out'
people's thinking. Listening carefully for key ideas, themes and
questions, she combines words with images to capture the essence
of a meeting as it unfolds, creating a graphic depiction of the
conversation that weaves the parts into an integrated whole.
"Graphic facilitation invites 'big picture' thinking in the
real sense of the word," Avril explains. "And seeing our
thoughts 'in living colour' not only brings clarity to the
process, but also inspires fresh ways of thinking by creating a
space for new realizations and intuitive leaps. That's the magic
of art: creativity begets creativity! And it engages people at a
more visceral level than can be achieved through words alone."
Avril has graphically facilitated meetings, conferences,
visioning sessions and workshops for community groups,
government agencies, educational institutions and corporate
clients. She brings to her work a background in graphic design,
art direction and dialogue - as well as a keen listening ear, a
playful and interactive approach, and a strong desire to help
groups move closer to their goals in the most enjoyable and
creative ways possible.
Please see
http://avrilorloff.com
for examples of Avril's work.
Brenda and Avril work together, facilitating and capturing the
nuggets of gatherings & meetings every chance they get.
