Tools Used by Top Entrepreneurs to Stay Organized

Part of running a successful small business is the ability to stay organized. Most entrepreneurs have busy lives outside of running their companies so organization is key to not going crazy.  Top Entrepreneurs look for the newest technology and tools available to get them organized and keep them organized. Some of the tools used by Top Entrepreneurs may be as simple as a written ‘to do’ list and others may be more sophisticated apps.  We looked at a few and share them here with you.

 

Brain.fm The designers of this app worked with neuroscientists to create a tool you can use to enhance your focus, help you relax with the aid of meditation. As they say on their website: “We believe music is a vastly underestimated tool for therapy and mental performance. With brain.fm we embark on changing the world’s perception of music. “  Brain.fm is music composed by AI (Artificial Intelligence), designed for specific purposes, like focus when you are working, relaxation when it’s time to chill and for meditation and sleep.  Since all the compositions are original music composed by their AI you will not hear songs you know which can be distracting. You can set the time for the music to run and they offer a large selection.   They offer a free trial, if you decide to purchase they offer monthly or yearly payment plans.

 

Top Entrepreneurs who travel a lot, use Babbel, a language learning app, that can be an invaluable tool,  if you are going to be interacting with non-english speakers in your business.  According to their website, “73% of users indicated that they’d be able to have a short, simple conversation in their new language within five hours of using Babbel.” You can use Babbel on the go on most of your portable devices, so it makes it simple for busy Top Entrepreneurs.  The app teaches you through real conversations and immerses you in the language so that you will be speaking like a native in a short period of time. Registration is free and your first lesson in any language is free.  If you decide to use Babbel the cost is between $6.95 and $12.95 per month per language.

 

For Top Entrepreneurs who really need to capture information and keep up with a lot of ongoing projects, there is Evernote, a cloud based office program. Evernote is literally designed to keep you organized. They have an app you can download on all your portable devices so you have access to your notes wherever and whenever you need.  They have a business version that makes it simple for you and your team, especially remote teams, to connect and share information. You can also use the Business version to manage projects and collect research. They offer a 30 day free trial, giving you time to evaluate how it works for you and your team. They have a basic free version and paid versions range $7.99 per month or $34.99 a year.  

 

Some Top Entrepreneurs are starting to use Siri to get organized and stay organized.  Siri can send emails, set alarms, give you directions, answer questions and she can connect with your calendar. Top Entrepreneurs on the go can add someone to their meeting list, sending them an invite at that time.  Siri doesn’t have to use a female voice if you want to change it to a male voice you can.  Siri can update your Twitter and Facebook accounts you have the keyboard or dictation option. Siri is an Apple product so can only be used on their devices.  The first year after you purchase your device with Siri is free.  After those first twelve months the charge for top of the line concierge service is about $3,000.

 

Trello is a free project management tool used by Top Entrepreneurs.  Trello uses a dashboard style display where you can create cards that allow you to share and update lists, add comments, upload files, and more.  You can drag and drop contacts into the cards on your dashboard. You will receive notifications when there are changes or updates across all your devices.  Trello can be integrated with over 30 apps like Mailchimp, Google Hangouts, Salesforce and Onedrive. It is free and they do have paid options which run around $10.00 per month per user, to $20.00 per month per user. The free version is pretty robust.

 

For many Top Entrepreneurs whose businesses are growing to a point where they need to hire employees, a tool like Proven is invaluable. They offer a free 10 day trial and then after that you only pay when you are actively hiring. Proven can save you time and money by allowing you to post to multiple job boards with one post.  They offer customer service support which will answer questions for you about the hiring process or help you write a job posting. They also will store resumes so that you have access to them at all times if you are in an HR compliant situation. Proven allows you to post your jobs on your social media, letting people who are following you know you have openings.

 

Whether you are just getting started building your business or you are growing and hiring employees, there are lots of good tools out there that can help Top Entrepreneurs, like you, get organized and stay organized. Some companies offer free versions while others offer free trials.  It is worth taking your time to research what the free versions offer compared to the paid versions, depending on the size and needs of your company. While you may start off with the free version, as your company grows you may want to upgrade to a paid version.
